Repair and disassembly information for Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling over-ear headphones.

No sound from the left side.

Hello, I bought Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones in unknown condition. It turned out that the right side, the speaker and the touch panel were fully functional. On the left side, the buttons, NFC and indicator light work. The only biggest problem is that there's no sound from the left speaker. I tried to connect to the computer via aux and again, sound could only be heard from the right side. What could be causing this problem? I would be very grateful for your answer.

Hi,

I've had the same thing happen to my headphones. What I did was I wiggled the left earpiece around until the right sound turned on; It would only turn on if it was placed in a specific way so every time I use them i need to wiggle it. If you want to fix it permanently, you could try opening the left ear cup and checking if anything is disconnected, because that is usually the problem. Hope I helped!

I opened it and checked if anything is disconnected before that and no, everything seems to be alright.

I had this issue previously. If the swivel on the affected headphone is damaged in such a way that makes it possible to bet flipped backwards accidentally, it is possible that the headphone did a 360 without you noticing. This caused mine to become unreliable. If you flip them back to where they correctly work and then fix the swivel following the guide below, it should resolve the issue.
