@andrasfodor could be but it's unlikely. Once it has been on for a while, does the picture turn all clear? If so, then this could be either a bad solder joint or failing capacitors etc. WE really would need to see the circuit boards etc. which may show some damage. Also, if you have a thermometer, you could measure the temp on your GPU. Based on the symptoms your describe and the display error, my first suspect here is actually the main board.

I have same problem and i will try fix with new t-con board i think this is problem. I'll report the results when I replace it, which will be soon.

Unfortunately, the T-Con board did not solve my problem. I'll keep looking and write when I find it.

@matolukic The next best board level replacement to try would be the main board.
@andrasfodor suggested that it might be a COF issue, which would not be a DIY fix.
I've replaced my failing unit with an Acer EI491CR, which is a 1-to-1 match to the LC49HG90.
But, I still have the LC49HG90 in case someone actually finds a fix.

I'm waiting for the second motherboard to arrive and then I'll try replacing it. If that solves my problem, then I'll start looking for the problem with the board I currently have.
