Screen damage is very likely. This problem will be resolved if the screen is replaced, there is a possibility that it will fall or be crushed by another object

I was going to do the screen anyway and while I am in their the battery will be replaced. And anything else that’s suspect looking
It's a good idea to replace it in a place that looks official because this kind of analysis is handled quite easily

And yes your battery is likely near the end of its useful life. I would install this gem of an App CoconutBattery it will allow you to see things better than what Apple offers in its battery health function. Post a snapshot of it so we can see where you are now
