Here are some possible solutions. Let us know which one works for you or not.

  • Solution 1 by going into BIOS
  • Turn on your laptop and press <F1> key to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Go to Security ---> Fingerprint menu ---> select "Reset fingerprint data" -->You will probably get en error message like "No fingerprint reader is attached.".
  • Regardless carry on again on the Security menu ---> I/O access ---> make sure Fingerprint recognition is set to enabled. Save BIOS settings and restart computer. Does it work now?
  • Solution 2 by re-installing drivers
  • Uninstall driver (if it is there) in Device Manager (<Win> key + <X> key for menu) ---> Right click Properties ---> Driver ---> select Unistall Device (Uninstall the device from the system (Advanced).)
  • Download driver from Lenovo
