when was the last time your blew the dust out of it?
It is very possibly overheating the CPU and shutting down.
I would assume it runs OK for a short time.
Open it up and look at the CPU cooler and fan. Use compressed air to blow it out (preferably outside).

Same answer as Kamal. The CPU is obviously working as the fan increases speed indicating it is getting hotter. But the twist is the display. You need to be a little more observant and post what is happening to the disk activity light. Also, what have you don't - like checking cables, swapping monitor to another computer, etc.
And it would be better to start another thread as this one is old.
