Dyson c3a-us-nce0562a keeps cutting out - filters already cleaned

My dyson keeps cutting out. I've already cleaned the filters and washed the 'sock'. One thing to note is that it only cuts out when I'm actively vacuum-cleaning with the main hose. When I disconnect the main hose the engine runs smoothly.
