Not sure which replacement optical drive to get

When I visit the parts page for my iMac model (iMac Intel 20" model A1174), the following statements appear:

[Works with] "All Intel iMacs with Panasonic drives (Early 2008 and older, excluding 24" iMac)"

And

"This drive does not work in iMacs with Pioneer (DVR-K06RS) drives."

According to the "About this Mac" info, my iMac has a Pioneer drive model K05 (but not the Pioneer K06RS or a Panasonic drive).

This makes me nervous. What is the right replacement optical drive for my iMac?

DVR-K06RS is pretty specific, I say as long as you don't have the DVR-K06RS, which you don't, you should be fine.

Just wondering if you bought a drive from ifixit.com that said it wouldn't work with iMacs having a K06RS Pioneer drive. I also have a K06A drive and have the same question that you did. Thanks.

I put a MATSHITA BD-RE UJ 225S in my 20" iMac. With Blu-Ray burning capabilities, it's not as fast as the old SuperDrive but does what I need it to.
