i press the novo button then select system recovery but it just goes back to boot menu i press enter but nothing happens I've pressed all the f buttons but just keeps going back to boot menu I even took the battery out still no joy on the boot menu which as 2 options: 1 windows boot manager: 2 emmc disk : SanDisk I and 32 gb pressed enter on both these and just flashes and goes back on boot menu , I have a Lenovo idealpad 110s 11 br has anyone got any ideas please
It could be a corrupted boot file in the eMMC drive. Hopefully it hasn't failed entirely or that it is a motherboard problem associated with the storage.
You could try what is suggested in this link and see if that works. You will lose all your data doing this but it may be lost already.
An alternative is to install a 128GB or 256GB M.2 2280 SSD card in the laptop and install Windows on that and use that as the boot drive. Search online for 5SD0L14642 or 5SD0L02320 (both 256GB) or 5SD0L14643 or 5SD0L02318 (both 128GB) to find suppliers of compatible SSDs.
Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.39 to view the procedure to remove/replace the SSD.
Although given that it only has 2GB of memory (non upgradeable) it won't work that well with Windows i.e. very very slow, so try installing a lite version of Linux e.g. Linux Lite or Linux Mint as these work better when there's not much ram available.
