Backlight turns off randomly after some time philips 46pfl9704h/12

Hello,

my philips 46pfl9704h/12 backlight turns off randomly after some time - sound and ambilight keep working, I can see images moving if I flash the screen. If I turn it off and back on again, the Philips logo appears and then the screen goes black again.

What could it be?

I’m not tech savvy so not sure if it’s worth the hassle considering it’s a 13 years old tv.

Older LCD TVs usually have a series of fluorescent tubes providing the backlight for the TV. They are controlled and powered by a circuit board attached directly to the panel. While it's possible to repair this circuit or even replace the failing fluorescent tubes, the effort and time are vastly outweighed by the cost of a new LCD TV

Just putting this here - I managed to deal with the issue by moving the fire stick to hdmi port 3. No more random turn offs
