3DS blank screen (black) blue light on please help!

I've been trying to fix this for a few years now but nothing I've tried worked!

When I turn on my 3ds the screen lights up but it's just black the blue light is in to signify that it's on but nothing happens.

If I hold the power button to put it in sleep mode it goes to the screen but if I try to go to the home screen it freezes.

I've tried to do the SAFE update thing but after updating it nothing changed.

I need help! If you have had this same problem and you could fix it please tell me what you did!

With a bit of luck, this should be an easy fix. Try clearing HOME menu extdata + theme data

  1. Power off your console
  2. Insert your SD card into your computer
  3. Navigate to the /Nintendo 3DS/<ID0>/<ID1>/extdata/00000000/ folder on your SD card
  4. Delete the corresponding folder for your 3DS region:
    • EUR Region: 00000098
    • JPN Region: 00000082
    • USA Region: 0000008f
    • CHN Region: 000000A1
    • KOR Region: 000000A9
    • TWN Region: 000000B1
  5. Delete the other corresponding folder for your 3DS region:
    • EUR Region: 000002ce
    • JPN Region: 000002cc
    • USA Region: 000002cd
  6. Reinsert your SD card into your console

In case you don't know what an <ID0> or <ID1> is, they're folders named with 32 character, system-specific identifiers. You won't find any folders actually named <ID0> or <ID1>
