[SOLVED] How snug should the battery connector cable be?

Block Image

Im afraid to break it if I push it too hard, but it still doesnt recognize it. How snug should it be? The little flap is already pushed up.

UPDATE:

It had to go deeper than that. It worked.

The ZIF ribbon connector requires very little insertion force into the slot. The cam latch likewise only needs a little lift pressure to unlatch and folding it down once’s the ribbon cable is inserted fully and squarely.

Looking at the image it appears the ribbon cable is fully and squarely inserted, but! The latch has not been folded down yet!

I edited the question so its clear which cable I mean, sorry.

The latch is still up, yes. So it doesnt go deeper than that? Unfortunately the battery is still not recognized... What could the problem be?

@vedsil - Let’s backup here… I’m assuming you replaced the battery, does the system even boot up when charger is plugged in? Do you have access to a USB-C power meter to even see if eve system is taking power. Have you tried a second charger and cable to be sure.

Lastly, did you carefully fold the latch down?

@Vedsil Dan is right that the cable is fully inserted but that the ZIF connector latch needs to be in the down position in order to fully connect the cable.

The latch is down, the system boots up normally, everything is working but the battery is not recognized at all :(
