iPhone xs shut down automatically while charging. see the Panic report

My iPhone XS shut down automatically while charging. After removing the charging cable it turns on automatically. Issue doesn't appear while charging using wireless charger.

Here is the panic report-

panic(cpu 1 caller 0xfffffff011dae3a8): "i2c0::_checkInterrupts error interrupt; last read status 10810100 int shadow 00890100 xfer 80000000 fifo 00000003 for device ad5860" @AppleS5L8940XI2C.cpp:451

Debugger message: panic

Memory ID: 0x1

Possible issue-

''U4700 Big Audio Codec IC

Baseband/NFC

Block Image

i2c0 line

U2700/U6110/J6400

NAND

Wi-Fi Module''

I have checked other threads. Some guys are saying that its because of charging flex and suggesting charging flex to replace. Some other saying that its because of taptic engine.

Would you please tell me whats the report saying actually and what should i do?

Thanks

@flannelist, if you have time, take a look. I probably won't be able to get to my XS schematics till tomorrow. I've got a set of XS Max drawings handy, but I hesitate to generalize between the two.

Agree that this is likely a charge port or taptic engine related issue. But it’s not a 100% diagnosis.

Here’s why I’m on that train of thought. This panic specifially references an issue with i2c communication (i2c is an electronics communication protocol widely in use on iPhones). There are several i2c groups in an iPhone noted by the chip in charge (usually a segment of the CPU) and an attached number to differentiate the various groups.

i2c0 in the XS Max does include communications that run through the charge port. Specifically to the Sakonnet chip (referred to in the panic by a manufacturer ID of ad5860 in the panic). This chip is usually mounted right to the taptic engine, and is responsible for controlling it.

So it could be the taptic engine. But it could also be the charge port since the signal is carried through the charge port assembly to the logic board. I would start there rather than board issue. But it could be tied to other things as well.
