Unable to pair headphones

I have a pair of Studio 2 wireless headphones that haven't been used for a while. It looks like the power is coming on but they won't enter pairing mode?

Can you supply power from another battery instead of the on-board battery? You may have to disassemble the headphone to access the battery. By supplying power from another battery, this should either power up for configuring or not work, indicating an electronic problem.
