The DZ09 is a Chinese smart watch with basic features and the ability to make calls. These can be as cheap as $10! (Yes, you read that correctly!)

@jonshute

Does the SIM card service provider have a 2G network?

If not it might not work as the watch is only suitable for 2G networks

My net has 3g

@jonshute

According to the user manual for the watch it only works on 2G networks.

Scroll down the page in the link to "Network Configuration"

It doesn't have the necessary GSM protocols to recognize 3G networks.

Hi @dz09

The DZ09 smartwatch only works with 2G (2nd generation) mobile phone networks.

If the SIM card that you're trying to use is from a mobile phone service provider that doesn't have a 2G network, it won't work.

2G is now becoming outdated and is being phased out most everywhere in the world.

If you scroll down the page in this link you can see in which country it might be still in use.

You could connect it via Bluetooth to a mobile phone and use it that way if you want to make calls etc, but then you need to have the phone on you or close by anyway as it can't be more than 10 metres away for the connection to be maintained, so there's no point in using it that way.

It's nothing to do with the sim, it's actually the IMEI number of the device that's not working. You can change the IMEI (which in some countries is illegal- so let's call it fixing) by accessing a secret code, made up of 4 digits in this sort of manner *#1234#. Check YouTube videos for more info
