Can someone help thanks

Hi @jakeplines

Is the status light steady or blinking?

Did you disable the battery in BIOS before installing the new SSD?

Try a power refresh and check if that resets the BIOS back to factory default to at least get it to start correctly.

Disconnect the charger from the laptop and then open the laptop and disconnect the main battery cable from the motherboard.

Disconnect the coin cell battery from the motherboard. Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.70 to view the procedure to remove the coin cell battery.

Press and hold the laptop's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it

Reconnect the coin cell battery, reconnect the main battery, connect the charger and check if the laptop starts OK at least so that you can get into BIOS OK.

The status light is steady as soon as I plug it into power it goes on battery or AC and no other signed of life have I broken it there as also a faint clicking noise could a component be shorting?

@jakeplines

Did you try what I suggested above, you didn't say?

If the status light is permanent, disconnect the charger and open the laptop, disconnect the main battery cable from the motherboard and then carefully inspect each and every cable connection and card connection e.g. SSD etc to make sure that they're secure.

If all is OK reconnect the battery cable and try turning it on.

If it doesn't turn on then there's a motherboard problem.

You might need the schematics to find out what it is.
