got mad while doing homework, hit the screen and smoke came out of the hinge for 5 secs. it still charges and everything. I took off the thing around the screen and it looks mostly normal, so i have no idea what happened.

@jacobm70171 "took off the thing around the screen and it looks mostly normal" I assume you are talking about the bezel. You said "mostly normal" but did not elaborate. Anyhow, since it still seems to work, charge power up etc. There is nothing you can work on right now. You will actually have to wait to see if anything "goes up in smoke", in the next few days. Could just have been dust/debris that got shook loose and create a "dust cloud" and not smoke. Wait and see what happens. In the meantime, try to find something to bridel any further anger issues :-)

This happened to me too it was a Lenovo chrome book but it wouldn't turn on so I heard the power button down, then the screen flashed white then Turner plain white, so I pressed the power button again, and smoke dame out of the keyboard ports, and then I shut it and it stop but still did not turn back on.
