freezes every time I start it up and periodically after+ fix?

Things to try and check it they resolve the problem:

a). Wipe the cache partition and check

Here's the procedure:

Make sure the device is turned off.

Next press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down key (both together)

When the LG logo appears on the screen, release the Power button only and keep pressing the Volume Down key. When the Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Down key

Navigate through the options using the Volume Up and Volume Down keys to wipe cache partition, then press the Power key to select it and follow the prompts.

Note: Do not select factory data reset as this will erase all your personal data and downloaded apps and restore the phone to its factory default state.

b) Start the phone in safe mode and check

Here's the procedure:

With the phone turned on press and hold the Power button until the “Power Off” options appear.

Touch and hold “Power Off.” until the Safe Mode prompt window appears.

Tap turn on safe mode, then wait until the phone restarts in Safe Mode.

If it starts and works OK in safe mode then a downloaded app¹ may be the cause of the problem.

The tricky part is finding out which one. You will have to uninstall each downloaded app one by one and test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall. When it works OK the last downloaded app that was uninstalled was the culprit.

¹A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed on the phone and wasn't pre-installed on the phone when you got it.
