If the phone has a Google or Samsung account associated with it first go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts and delete the account.

When that is done, go to Settings > General management > Reset and select Factory data reset and follow the prompts.

Once reset the phone will be restored to its factory default condition and all personal data and downloaded apps installed by you will be removed.

Remember to eject the SIM card and also the SD card if you have one of those inserted as well.
