This is either a defective part (faulty display) or a poorly executed repair. If you're comfortable removing the display, I would suggest doing that and ensuring that all of the connectors are seated properly. If you're feeling ambitious, clean each connect with a little isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip. If the display is still not functioning correctly, it's always good to reset your settings to make sure that it's not something you or one of your apps randomly did to make the display behave this way. If it's still acting funny, take it back to whomever repaired it and ask for your money back, then come back here, use this guide, and replace it yourself to ensure quality.

When you say the screen won’t react. It’s not displaying anything? Or touch doesn’t work?
If the display isn’t working, how do you know the phone is powering on?

It randomly comes on if a notification comes through. So when picked up it displays a black screen as well as if the buttons are touched. I thought maybe replacing the buttons would help but I have no clue if it’s a sensor that could be replaced.
