You are correct! First, use a Y000 bit driver to remove the screw then you will need a source of heat like a heat gun or hair dryer and an opening pick. Turn the phone over so you’re looking at the Apple logo and heat the top part of the housing for a minute or so (until it’s hot to the touch). Then flip the housing back over and slowly insert the opening pick between the ribbon cable and the housing. Keep working the cable up from the housing slowly working from right to left.
I’ve tried replacing this cable myself on several phones but have found that it’s typically a far better idea to purchase the housing with small parts included. They can’t show the part with Apple logo on it but I assure you, it’s there. When you purchase with the small parts included you just have to move the major components; cameras, logic board, battery but things like the wireless charging coil, the Taptic Engine, the speaker and the power flex cable are already installed.
