Will a LM270QQ1 (SD)(F1) display (from a 2020 iMac 5K) work in a 2019?

I'm looking to replace my cracked screen in my 2019 [EMC 3194]. The original panel is LM270QQ1 (SD)(E1) -- however, I know that earlier LM270QQ1 (SD) variants (A2/B1/C1/D1) will work. What I'm not sure of is whether or not the later 2020 [EMC 3442] LM270QQ1 (SD)(F1) variant will.

I realize that "on paper" it shouldn't work, and "on paper" neither should the A2/B1/C1/D1 variants -- but they do. I'm guessing it should, but I'd love some confirmation if anyone has actually tried it.

I've read reports that, starting with the 2020 models "calibration" by Apple was required when replacing displays (via GSX) -- however, I presume that's something tied to the newer logic board, which in this case I wouldn't be using.

Any chance you've had any experience with this @just1ed?

Edit: Welp, guess we're going to find out -- I have one on the way for a deal too good to pass up. I'll post an update once it arrives.

So, to answer my own question: YES, the F1 panel worked to replace the E1 panel in my 2019 iMac w/ 570X. Nothing special needed, it plugged in and worked right away. The only "issue" is that the 1080p Facetime camera that comes attached to the display does NOT appear to work, unfortunately. It's detected as UVC Camera VendorID_1452 ProductID_34065 in System Information, but no video is displayed in any application (FaceTime returns a "No Video" message).

Hello, got the same problem, tried a new 2020 screen at the repair shop 2 days ago on iMac 2019 and it didn't work: Apple logo OK but doesn't show desktop after boot

Hello, as an update i tried the A2 and B2 screens and they did NOT work eitheir with my iMac 27 2019 which is equipped with a radeon Vega 48, even worse than F1 which at least displayed the Apple logo.

Well this is ominous and disappointing, but I do find it odd that neither the A2 or B1 are working for you.

I'm in the process now of testing whether or not the upgraded 1080p FaceTime camera will happen to work. I'll report back. :)

Also, the corner of the aluminum body is bent. Any way to bend it back or can I buy a body?
