removing lid for cleaning

How can I take the top lid off, please? There are parts of it that can't be reached by the smallest brush. It would be nice to be able to get the top off without breaking anything so that it, and what's under it, could be properly cleaned. Thanks!

Open the lid and find the. two rubber bumpers near the front edge. They are actually covering two screws and must be pried out to uncover the screws.

There is a basic repair article on ifixit showing the way to do it.

To open a Cuisinart coffee maker lid, you generally need to

lift it from the handle-side by pulling straight up, or press down on both sides of the lid until it pops open. For some carafes, you may need to turn the lid to unlock it before lifting it off. If the lid is stuck, clean the hinge area or run a cycle with water to use steam pressure to help loosen it, as suggested by this JustAnswer article.
