How to prevent PowerBook from shuting down when pluging it in

My 17" powerbook g4 1.5ghz shuts down when I plug it in or unplug it. I just replaced the dc board without any luck. Got any ideas?

The battery checks out fine at 5397 mAH. I am currently using a 45W adapter and I have been talking with a friend that has a 65W so I check with that one when I get a chance. I don't know what the mac store had but it did it with there's and it did the same thing.

First check out your battery. Download and run Coconut Battery here: http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutba...

Next tell us the wattage on your adapter.

The 45 watt adapter is your problem. With a charged battery it will work but you really need a 85 watt to properly run your machine.
