Frigidaire Freezer Not Dropping Ice

Hi all,

I have a side by side Frigidaire freezer/fridge, model number FRSS2623AS6.

Water will enter the cube tray fine and freeze, but will not drop. When I cycle the control panel on and off (green button), the tray begins to rotate, but the feeler arm doesn’t go all the way down. If I manually push it down gently, it will go down and drop ice, then fill back with water.

I attempted defrosting for a little while, but that did not work. I haven’t taken it apart to see if maybe something is stuck or out of alignment with the feeler arm and motor inside. I’ve also attempted a reset, which also did not work.

I’ve attached a picture, and video at the best angles I could get with the bin still installed.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

That was it.

I haven’t fully reinstalled, just plugged the harness back in to check if the feeler arm goes down on its own, and it did, once for drop, again for water recharge.

Going to let it sit out and fully evaporate any remaining liquid so it doesn’t refreeze after reinstall.

If it still doesn't work OK after you reinstall it, here's the service data sheet for the model series, that may help.

It describes how to manually run a test cycle on the ice maker.

If there is a fault and a replacement part is required, here's a parts list that may be useful.

Scroll across to the ice maker parts diagram to find the part and then the part number for the part. Then search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.
