Charging port not working correctly

The lightning port of my 6S+ iPhone is having a hard time to charge. When I twist the cable a little, it makes connection and charges. When I tested the cable on a iPhone 12 I did notice that the cable clicked in with more pressure and was connected better. To take it off was harder and of course it charged much better, but I’m wondering could the port on that I phone was better/differently built ygss as n my old iPhone?

Is the port clean? Use a toothpick and gently scrape the bottom of the port and see if it has dirt in it. If the charge connector doesn’t go all the way in and you can see metal between the phone and charge connector then it has a build up of dirt and needs cleaned. If that doesn’t work then your looking at a new charge port.
