So I made a thread about a month ago having double image on my screen. It suddenly fixed itself one day and was back to normal. After 3 weeks or so, it returned but even worse now. It was previously mentioned it could be the tcon board but I couldn't figure out the exact part for my model. I'd give it a shot to replace it rather than buying a new set. So if someone can point me in the direction of that too that'd be great.

@genopwns Could be your T-con board but could be the panel too. Remove the back panel from your TV and check the boards. Look for anything “odd”. Next take some pictures of all of the boards. Your TV may not have a dedicated T-con board but it may be integrated with the main board. Check the ribbon cables for tears and corrosion. Remove them and clean the connectors( I yse a pencil eraser) and then reseat

added pics. Didn't really see anything odd from my inspection but again I don't really know what I'm supposed to look for. Just blew some compressed air on it since it was a little dusty.

Cleaned out the ribbons as well after and no change on the TV.

@genopwns your TV use a main board that has the T-con board integrated. That makes things a little tougher. The brown board is the power board, the green one is the main board. The flat ribbon cable that connects the main board to the panel, connects to a LCD driver board (scalar board) which connects to another driver board (Left and Right side of the panel) Via a ribbon cable. Try this. Turn you TV off. Disconnect the ribbon cable that connect the Left and Right driver board (picture #3) Then turn your TV on. You will not get a complete picture but you should get something. Let us know what you see.

Yeah I saw a vid about the ribbons trying it on and off. One ribbon off has a clear image albeit only the half of the screen. Having the other ribbon off has a distorted image. The vid I watched showed blocking some pins off the ribbon to make it work but didn't work for me.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@genopwns that means that whichever side is not working properly has a failed component on the driver board. It may actually have the T-con IC on the board. The common tape-off will not work for your model since it does not have a designated T-con board.

Where did you try and apply some tape to block the signals

@oldturkey03 I tried both ribbons on the edges. Basically just trying it on and off bit by bit. Is it a lost cause to try and fix this?
