Yes, the OWC X2 SSD is a good drive! So if the drive is correctly installed, the next task is you need to be using High Sierra or newer on your system before you swap out the drive as the systems firmware was upgraded between Sierra and High Sierra. That’s not to say you can’t still move forward! It’s just a bit harder.

@gmichaelson - Well…we’re getting warmer😁the A1398 tells us you have a 15” retina system which covers a range of systems from 2012 to 2015!
Apple made quite a few changes within this series. Think it like a car, a Mustang from 2012 is very different to the 2015!
