Help with Motherboard Swap/Install and getting up and running.

When swapping out the motherboard on my MacBook Pro (A1990), what do I need to know with regard to getting it running? Specifically, since the new board had a new HD, do I just turn it on once the new motherboard is installed and then go about doing an install of my last Time Machine backup like I would getting a new Mac (transferring the old to the new)? Or, is this much more complex and I need to install some things before I can even get to that?

That's to ask, beyond pulling the old board, and installing the new, what else do I need to do to get the MacBook working?
