Assuming we're talking about this cable here:

iPhone 8/8 Plus Test Cable for Lightning Connector

The point of this cable is to be able to verify that replacing a lightning connector will fix a given problem without having to disassemble the phone. The idea here is to open up the phone and disconnect the existing lightning connector from the motherboard. Plug in the test cable to the logic board, then take a new lightning port assembly and plug it into the other end of the test cable. When you power up the phone you should be able to verify that whatever issue you were seeing has disappeared with the replacement cable plugged in.

Of course there may be errors since other parts like the Taptic engine and lower speaker won't be attached, but if you're seeing things like a kernel panic, you should see that issue go away.

Thank u! I actually replaced the lightning connector before I saw your response. I tested the new one and looks like it’s not working . I had also replaced the battery, front screen, and the audio control cable. Still not getting power to the device. The phone was cracked on front and back and had seems to have suffered damage by blood that seeped into the cracks and ports. Not sure if the problem is with the logic board, but under a microscope I can see blood still caked on some of the components. I’m waiting on getting an ultrasonic cleaner to try and clean it off better. Any other suggestions or comments appreciated! Thanks for the reply!
