Is there a CMOS battery in this laptop?

keeps having the time not set correctly when I turn it on.

Yes, it seems as there there is.

Here's an image from a supplier of the board showing the location of the battery.

Unfortunately for you, it is on the underside of the motherboard, so you will have to remove the motherboard to gain access to the battery.

Here's a video showing the disassembly of an Asus S56C, that may help (couldn't find one for an S56CA but should be similar). Though it seems, that the coin cell battery in this model, is connected differently (still on the underside, in approximately the same place - stop the video at 12:07 minutes in) in that it is inserted into a battery holder and not plugged in as shown in the image above.

It is under the board. I took it apart and replaced it. It was easy enough. Just manage the cables and screws and use a card to carefully separate the housing. I took my time and got it done in about 30 minutes. Used a replacement from Amazon.
