screen is on for a bit then turns off, works with external display

I recently got an iMac in a lot, it works for a bit 30 seconds or less, then the main display will turn off and won't come on, I've tried to reseat connectors pram reset and everything else. any ideas?

@connorsmig25744 it will turn off or it will turn dark? If it turns dark it's an issue with the backlight :-)

Honestly, that sounds like something is wrong with either the display itself, or the connection between the display and the SOC. You should try examining it to check for any signs of damage, and should probably take it to a repair shop to perform diagnostics.
