battery contact cable adhesive

I am rebuilding, having replaced the battery. In one of the later steps you heat the adhesive on the battery contact cable before gently removing. in the reverse - what adhesive should i use to fix the cable? it looks like its fixing to an aluminium patch - should i use thermal compound or regular hot glue or double sided tape?

thanks in advance

yes that is it... It looks like it had a copper like adhesive or possibly tape of some kind.

Nothing fancy required. just used double sided tape. I did leave the copper P- pad in contact with the chassis. all appears to be working fine.

Big thanks to daniel (above) for help with this
