What is this repair part?

Hello,

I’ve replaced the display and Force Touch sensor on my original (Series 0) Apple Watch.

The procedure is a near success: The display inevitably falls out of the case, however. I’ve noted instructions for heating and clamping to no avail.

There are two identical parts included with my repair kit (I also purchased the tool kit). They look like screen protectors but with a large notch in one corner. Are they gaskets for the Force Touch sensor? Adhesive layers? Knowing whether the large-surface-area inside section of this part or the outer ring is the segment to use would be also very helpful.

What is this part?

Thanks!

Could you add photos of these parts?

From the photos, it *might* be the adhesive for the display, do you also have a link to the repair kit you purchased? Maybe there is a "included parts" list

Doing a search for IF308-009-8 seems to return a result of the replacement display and optional, associated “Fix Kit”.

I apparently got the same kit you did. Those are adhesives for securing the force touch sensor and/or the display to the case.

I found that you can't use both of them; the final result ends up too thick and the screen sticks up. My final solution was to use one of them - the non-Tesa one - in conjunction with the adhesive already present on the force touch sensor to seal it down. Seemed to work for a couple of years until I had to open it up again for a battery replacement.
