The network port (ethernet port) on your iBook is integrated to the logic board and connect be replaced. You'd need a logic board replacement. There are USB to Ethernet Converters on the market. This would give you an extra ethernet port but since your iBook has the USB 1.0 technology I don't think it would work for you.

For info I got a D-Link DUB E-100 USB Ethernet adapter working at 100TX Full duplex on my iBook G3 12" under Tiger 10.4.11 with a USB 1.1 port to replace a faulty Ethernet port. You just have to install the driver on the included CD.
