I was using the laptop one day and then it just suddenly shut off and would not come back on. I changed the battery and it still will not power on. Need some help on what the problem could be.

Hi Walla. I have come across a similar issue with 2 Lenovo Ideapads in the last 2 weeks. Remove the installed ram stick and the laptop should turn on. It is either the ram that has gone bad or the ram slot itself. With the 2 laptops that i dealt with, one was the ram slot that had gone bad and the other the black metal shield that was screwed over the ram. When i removed this shield the laptop powered up fine.

Does the laptop indicate that the battery is charging when the charger is connected?

No. There is no charging light indicator when plugged in
