Is this a genuine Apple USB-C to USB-C charging cable?

I have recently purchased a 2m C-C "genuine" Apple cable. When plugged in, the computer was constantly chiming as if plugging in and out on a loop. I was asked to destroy the cable while the seller was sending another one. That gave me an opportunity to look inside and what I saw surprised me, to say the least. I wonder if this truly is a work of Apple or if this is just another apple factory surplus scam. No wonder poor macbooks are burning...

A power cable is different than a full data cable!

This is a power cable as the Black & Red wires are the power feed lines, the other three are the data lines. This is a slow data speed cable it’s not a full speed USB-C or Thunderbolt3/4 cable which has a bit more to it, more data lines and a buffer chip within the connector.

As to why it failed out of the box I can’t answer that, and as the knockoffs are so good now there is no visible markings to tell us which is read Vs fake.
