@joeazzato there are plenty of picture of the L16 but never enough information about how to get to the battery. I strongly suggest you go to this site and safe all the information to your personal drive. Nobody knows how long it will be around. These are not step by step instructions, but more of a teardown. So use caution and care when you disassemble it. Also, teh damage to the housing can most likely be minimized by using the proper opening tools and some heat to loosen any adhesive etc. Lots of trial and error :-)
You are now the pathfinder for this :-) While you work on it to replace your battery, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. Has anyone tried jumpstarting the battery through the 11 pins at the bottom of the camera? I've seen videos on YouTube that make me think something like that would be possible.
