Hello, I accidentally dropped my smartphone, a Mi Note 7, yesterday, and the power button is now entirely broken, making it impossible to turn on the device. Therefore, is it necessary to replace the external power button alone or also the full flex cable and other connecting accessories? Please advise.

@suratguy it all depends on the damage etc. but yes, it sounds like you need to replace the switch as well as the power flex. Check something like this video for the How-to. The button and the flex are available at places like this and many others.
While you replace those parts, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. The flex cable holding the power button also has the volume up and down buttons so you'll be replacing those at the same time.
