My Headband broke, now it flexes way too much

Block Image

Hello Dear People,

I think I dropped my Evolve2 Headset, since then my headband flexes at the spot where the silicone patting and the plastics of the headband merge.

I want to take it apart but I´m a bit insecure about how to do this.

Has anyone any experience?

@lukaslobuescher some of the "headbands" really can't be completely disassembled. It might help if you post some good pictures of what you got going on there, with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question - iFixit Repair Guide

Hello oldturkey,

thank you for the answer!

I thought I already did upload the pictures...

Here they are

Yes, mine did the same. I designed and printed a 3D reinforcement cover. Seems to work well on both sides.

I have the same issue. I was googling for a while and found no take apart diagrams. Additionally, I couldn't even find any headband replacement as service part (there is always the option to look for broken ones and cannibalize it, but that will give a less working span for the headset...).

Is there any update on this topic?

same issue here. Anyone brave enough o open and try to fix it?

I got mine apart and found a white plastic piece broken at the flexing portion. Either need to find a replacement or use JB weld to strengthen it? Not sure. Was not too hard to come apart, trickiest part was removing the curved plastic piece nearest the earpiece from the flat plastic. Use small flat blade and get between flat and curved area moving the curved portion away out and away from the flat area. It has clickable locking tabs. I might update this if I get this thing glued...

@richardp78529 If you can somehow give us the STL file for your 3D printed part, I would love to try and/or modify it. Thanks, Kirk Reed

I have the same issues. I ended up using clear tape on mine. I just ordered the a new pair. The Evolve2 65 Flex. They must knew about the issue because they built it different this time.
