Why is my ducky one 2 mini stuck in demo mode and does not type?

I bought this Ducky one 2 mini off my friend which he used just a few months ago, but when I plugged it into my xbox or pc it would not type and cycle through the different color modes. I tried to update the software, use a different cable and tried to manually reset the keyboard but nothing happened. It’s like the keys don’t register typing and are stuck in demo mode. Can anyone help?
