@spezzella63 the Toshiba C55D uses a DC power jack plug socket cable. Something like this should work You will have to disassemble your computer and replace that cable.

It's a Toshiba, so original manuals or any help from the company can be ruled out due to their corporate paranoia and greed. You'll have to use something like this guide Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A5306 DC Power Jack Replacement or videos like this and modify them according to your computer. The principals will be the same.
