NVMe disk in PCIe - big write/read different

Hi guys,

today I finally got my PCIe x4 NVMe card for genuine Apple NVMe 12+16pin ( currently I have only 128GB). So I installed macOS Monterey 12.6.4 with OCLP. Everything is OK but the write/read speed look really odd to me. It's possible that the different is so big ?

Write 619.0 MB/s

Read 1435.3 MB/s

Thank you very much for any ideas/advice.

Really need to know the drive specs and who’s PCI board you are using.

@danj Drive is genuine Apple SSD from MacBook PRO 2015 - Samsung mz-jpv1280/0a4 and PCIe board is Adapter Card to PCI-E 4X for 2013/14/15/16/17 MacBook Air pro 12+16 pin SSD.

@roboscrap - You do realize this is not a NVMe drive it is an AHCI drive and the 128GB SSD is only two lanes not four lanes.

@danj NO :) I didn’t know that. So which drive I need ? And where I can find if it’s NVMe or AHCI (if there are any NVMe SSD from Apple) ?
