What heating tool do you use?
I'm looking at getting a good tool for opening glued MacBook Unibody display.
What have you used? What was most successful, what didn't work so well?

I use a Bosch Heat gun 1942: http://www.boschtools.com/products/tools...
And four heavy duty Spudger:

You just take your time and do not leave the heat on one spot too long. But follow the guide posted on iFixit.com and it will come right off. It will take a good 10 or so minutes to remove the glass. So do not rush it. You can crack the glass if you hold the gun in one spot too long or pry the side too fast before the glue is loosened.

i use for that a cheap heat gun (~14$)
the temperature range is from 250°F to 1100°F
it can also be used for bga reflowing - but it's not as good as a real hot air station, even the cheap gordak/aoyue stations are better - but if you only need something like that for one or two boards - you can use a common heat gun

+ thanks
I used an old hairdryer and a suction cup from my GPS.

Use a suction cup, spudger and a hairdryer with a flat tip. If you have some flat frig magnets to slip under the glass so it won't reattach even better.
