What do I need to do with these parts

Just wondering if I need to solder these together or if there’s something else I need to do

Yes. This little board houses the charging mechanism for the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. It's curiously the only model that does this. But that's where the actual charging chip lives on these models, rather than the main logic board itself.

You should be able to solder the charging board onto the new flex. Obviously be cautious, it is a dual layer board, just like the main board in the 11 Pro and Pro Max and soldering onto flexes takes some practice. But that's all that should need to be done.

Hi

Unfortunately it appears that the solder joints have failed on your cable and you will need to replace it

Even if all the solder pads were still there chances are you would end up melting the cable so your best bet is to just replace it:-)

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

Hi this is a replacement part that I bought online but It didn’t come with that top part from the photo. So I took it off the old charging flex cable part

@ikehardman21762

I’m that case you will probably have to reball the little square piece and hot air it into place

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

What do you mean by reball

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@ikehardman21762

Reballing is a soldering term

It means to solder on new solder balls onto the chip or board so it can be reattached to a board or cable using hot air

If you look up solderballs on eBay you can order them from a verity of suppliers

I recommend mechanic
