The screen is pitch black. Motherboard or display issue?

The green light shines, and the menus give off sound when scrolling. Everything is pitch black though. Is my motherboard gone or the display itself?

its a screen issue, if your motherboard was dead you wouldn't get anything out of the device, like no sound or lights

you probably need to replace the LCD part of your screen
