Remove the tail lights and test for continuity with a multimeter between the bulb connections and a good ground on the chassis. If you have continuity between both pins and the chassis then there is a short on that circuit. Should only get continuity on one connector.

@babydolly what exact year is your Sportage. remove the taillight bulbs and see if it still shortens out and blows the fuse. It does sound like a short in the lamp assembly but we need to see what else is on that circuit.

Has the vehicle got a towbar?
If so. the vehicle then also has a socket connector for the brake/tail/turn indicator lights to be cable connected through to a box trailer/van etc.
Just another place to check for problems if a fuse blows for any of these lights.
