There are youtube videos showing exactly that. You will need pure isopropyl alcohol to clean up the old stuff once you've removed the chip, and a tube of thermal paste specifically for CPU's from an electronic components supply shop. Don't worry about using too much; university studies here show "the more, the better", unless it's the conductive type, then be careful where you put it.
