The March 2015 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Air features fifth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, resulting in slightly increased performance and battery life.

Half of screen weirdly colored. Is it broken or software issue?

The MacBook hasn't been dropped or anything, this happened out of nowhere. I tried resetting the NVRAM, Booted In safe mode, complete reset and downloaded the newest update. nothing worked.

Hi

To see if it’s software try connecting it up to a external display

If you get the same results it’s probably software

If not it’s a probably a display issue:-)

Thankyou for your response!

I suppose it’s a display issue then.

@Alizée K

Are you planning on replacing the display?

If you are do you need a guide for it?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Thankyou! But i’m afraid i don’t have the skills for that. I’ll have to bring it to a shop.

@Alizée K

I see

In that case I wish you the best of luck with it:-)

Thanks:-)

Possibly the screen flex is not making proper contact, press lightly on the bottom of the screen on the protective plastic and see if that stripe in the middle is removed.

Hi!

I tried this and it did make a clicking noise, as if the framing was a bit loose. But the clicking now stopped and the stripe is still there sadly.

Thankyou for the response though! :)

@Alizée K

You need to disassemble the screen to check the flex.
