Does anyone have any ideas?Backlight possably?

OK so my tv decided to darken most of the center of screen and the outsides became brighter but only specific parts of both sides of screen. If you look close enough you csn see what looks like an LED strip on both sides. Is this an issue with backlights or could the strips have been shifted some how? Would i replace those trips or open the hood and just readjust tthe positioning?

Hi @kod3rok

It looks like the LED strips or perhaps the power supply to the particular strips that is the problem.

Easiest way to tell is to get a TV backlight LED tester (examples only) and connect that to the power leads to the individual LED strips i.e. disconnect the LED power supply cable from power board and connect tester to the appropriate wires in the cable.

That way you're testing the strips in isolation i.e. no power on TV (backlight tester has its own power) and LEDs are not connected to anything else.

If they light up, it's the power board, if they don't it's the LED strips

this is what's happened, the LEDs have burnt the diffusion layers due to a terrible design from samsung, they should have recalled every one of them.
