O3DS XL wont turn on after top screen replacement

I replaced my O3DS XL top screen, but it won't turn on. GBAtemp says its probably a broken ribbon cable since the fuses are fine and all cable connections are fine. Is there anything else I could try or check before ordering another screen and trying again, especially considering the recent price raise?

Update: literally right as I pressed post the listing was removed from the store and the page just returns a 404.
